I shop these spots all the time, for my own son and for gifts when my friends’ kids have birthdays coming up. So if you’re picking up a gift, restocking the toy bin, or just want to make a kid’s day, here are the best kid stores in the Coachella Valley, the ones I actually go to myself.

Chrissy’s on El Paseo

This is one of my favorites. Chrissy’s Kids carries Jellycat, plus real brand name kids’ clothing like Rylee + Cru, Splendid, and Tiny Whales, all in a space that’s colorful and just fun to walk through. It’s my go-to when I want a gift that actually feels special, not just another toy off a shelf.

JadaBug’s Kids Boutique

JadaBug’s is La Quinta’s go-to for basically everything baby and kid related. Toys, books, and clothing from newborn all the way to tween, plus trusted brands like UPPAbaby, Nuna, and Jellycat. They also rent out baby gear, cribs, car seats, strollers, which is genuinely useful if you’ve got family traveling in and don’t want them hauling their own equipment.

Cuddle Paws

This is a sweet one, and it’s locally owned right here in the Coachella Valley. Cuddle Paws makes soft, animal-themed body pillows kids actually want to sleep with and drag around the house, not just prop on a shelf. It’s an easy online order, and I love supporting a local business when I’m picking out a gift.

The Lumpy Bunny

This one’s my pick when I want something a little more special. The Lumpy Bunny on El Paseo has been a Palm Desert staple for almost twenty years, a boutique packed with American and European kids’ clothing, European toys, and accessories for newborn through age eight. It’s the spot for the outfit you actually want in the photos, not just something pulled off a rack.

Something for Every Kid

Between Jellycat finds, real kids’ fashion, and a hobby shop that’s been around since 1955, the Coachella Valley has more going on for toy shopping than people realize. Next time you need a gift or just want to make someone’s day, these are the spots I actually send people to.
